Not Every Thought Deserve a Seat at Your Table

“For we wrestle not again flesh and blood, but against principalities, against powers…” Ephesians 6:12

Devotional Reflection:

Everyday, thoughts arrive unannounced. Some come gently, others aggressively, They knock at the door of your mind, demanding attention, agreement, and space. But here is a truth we often forget: not every thought is from God, and not every thought deserves permission to stay.

Spiritual wafare is raely loud. Most battles happen quietly – in the mind. Fear disguises itself as logic. Doubt dresses as realism. Condemnation pretends to be self-awarness. If we are not descerning, we allow these thoughts to pull up a chair at the table Gof prepared for peace, faith, and purpose.

Jesus Himself demonstrated discernment in the wilderness. When the enemy spoke, He did not debate – He responded with truth. He did not entertain lies – He dismissed them.

Application for today:

  • Pause before agreeing with every thought.
  • Ask: Does this align with God’s Word?
  • Replace intrusive thoughts with Scripture.
  • Speak truth out loud when needed.

Prayer:

Lord, sharpen my discernment. Help me recognize thoughts that do not come from you. GIve me the strength to reject lies and welcome only what aligns with Your truth. Guard my mind and renew it daily. Amen.
